Outcomes-based assessment In line with current legislation, Mandate Trainining is accredited by the Services SETA (Accreditation Number: 0285). We ensure that all of our training programmes are aligned with the relevant unit standards. Before, during and after each programme, we assess each delegate’s progress according to the assessment criteria of the specific unit standard.
Customisation Mandate Training will design learning material which meet your organisation’s needs.
We will:
- Ensure that material is outcomes-based and in line with the relevant unit standards
- Customise material using examples and relevant case studies
- Design PowerPoint presentations to support programmes
- Consult with relevant supervisors to ensure the material’s relevance and consistency
Expert Facilitation We will provide expertly facilitated, experiential training sessions which cater for the communication needs of South African organisations.
We facilitate training using a variety of techniques:
- Experiential training
- PowerPoint presentations
- Discussions and debates

Participants’ material Each participant will get a clear, user-friendly participant’s manual that contains:
- Principles, standards and guidelines
- Examples, case scenarios and role-plays
- Exercises to complete
Assessment of Competence/ Skills
Mandate Training will determine the levels of competence of delegates before, during and after training through:
- Customised pre-course competency-based assessments (questionnaires are emailed to the delegates)
- Customised formative assessments during the course in the form of:
- Knowledge-based questionnaires
- Assignments to test application of skills (verbal presentations, analysis of case scenarios and role-plays)
- Customised summative assessments combined in a portfolio of evidence, including:
- Written or verbal assignments
- Case scenarios to test application on the job
- Knowledge-based questionnaires
- Portfolio of evidence to be evaluated against the unit standard’s criteria by assessors, using assessor guides (includes moderation)
- Delegates receive a qualitative report outlining their level of competence and areas requiring remediation with personal development plan
- Resubmission of portfolio of evidence where competence is not attained
- Certificates of competence, listing unit standard credits, are awarded to competent learners
Post-course recommendations
Mandate Training will provide your organisation with a comprehensive qualitative and quantitative report including:
- Levels of competence achieved
- Delegates’ evaluation of the training material and facilitation
- Suggestions from the delegates for improved organisational effectiveness (eg improvements to the style, structure and format of your documents)
